Job Description
XMSTART is looking for a Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services in
Las Cruces, NM
. The selected candidate will work multiple mission system projects and tasks—from broad, strategic issues (e.g. policies, concept of operations, etc.) to tactical concerns (e.g., near-term schedules, testing, system integration and transition, etc.) to support vital operational missions. Responsibilities:
- Support Chief Engineer and government staff to execute systems engineering and integration (SE\&I) activities across customer site and work collaboratively with other customer organizations across the mission enterprise
- Work with SE\&I teams to execute site system engineering process; oversee site processes used to document and manage site baseline to accommodate evolving mission needs.
- Collaborate with System Program Offices (SPO), local operations teams, and other Government Agencies to integrate various GEOINT space missions into a ground-based architecture; ensure the delivering organization understands site integration needs and processes
- Assist in developing standards, processes and procedures, and operations \& maintenance plans; review and evaluate technical documentation (e.g. RFCs, CONOPS, requirements; issues and risks, etc.)
- Represent government's interests at various forums; provide analysis and recommendations to multiple government customers
- Serve as liaison between GPOC and internal/external organizational project managers to guide and monitor progress
- Occasional CONUS travel
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)* and three (3) years or more experience; or master's in STEM field and one (1) year or more experience.
- Expertise in full system engineering life cycle; from concept, requirements, design \& development, to deployment and operational maintenance.
- Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
- Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization's needs throughout system development lifecycle.
- Self-starter, proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; readily defines solutions for broad, abstract topics.
- Polished communicator (written/verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; and comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers
- Strength in collaborating and coordinating with multiple stakeholders
