Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Benefits Analyst to join its Total Rewards team and support the administration, optimization, and ongoing performance of employee benefit programs. This individual will serve as a key partner across HR, Payroll, Finance, HRIS, and external vendors to ensure benefits operations run efficiently and accurately. The role combines benefits administration, Workday Benefits management, financial reconciliation, reporting, compliance, and vendor oversight. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys both the operational and analytical sides of benefits while driving process improvements and enhancing the employee experience.

Location

Hybrid Schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote in Atlanta, GA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer health, welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs throughout the employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain and enhance benefit plans within Workday, including eligibility rules, testing, audits, and ongoing system support.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for complex employee benefits questions and escalations.
  • Partner with carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues and maintain strong vendor performance.
  • Manage monthly billing activities, including reconciliation of benefit invoices and validation of enrollment data.
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Finance to investigate discrepancies and ensure accurate benefit-related financial reporting.
  • Conduct regular audits across HR, payroll, and vendor systems to maintain data accuracy and compliance.
  • Support regulatory requirements, reporting obligations, and audit activities related to employee benefit plans.
  • Develop reports and analyze trends related to enrollment, utilization, costs, and program effectiveness.
  • Participate in annual open enrollment planning, testing, communications, and post-enrollment validation efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance the overall employee experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related discipline preferred.
  • 5\+ years of benefits administration experience with ownership of complex benefits processes.
  • Strong background managing relationships with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators.
  • Experience handling self-funded or self-billed benefit plans, including invoice reconciliation and financial analysis.
  • Hands-on Workday Benefits experience, including administration, reporting, auditing, and configuration support.
  • Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze large datasets and perform detailed reconciliations.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain benefits programs clearly to diverse audiences.

Preferred Experience

  • Multi-state benefits administration experience.
  • Exposure to benefits implementations, renewals, acquisitions, or organizational transitions.
  • Experience supporting large employee populations.
  • Professional certifications such as CEBS, CBP, or similar credentials.
