DevOps Engineer

A high-performance trading firm operating in global financial markets is seeking a DevOps Engineer to support and scale the infrastructure behind its trading systems. This role partners closely with developers, traders, and quantitative researchers to ensure system reliability, performance, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced, real-time environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage automation for workflows, deployments, and data pipelines
• Develop tools and processes to improve system reliability, observability, and performance
• Troubleshoot complex issues across applications, networks, and operating systems
• Deploy and configure applications using configuration management and containerization tools
• Support and maintain infrastructure across on-premise and co-located data centers
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues and improve systems
• Maintain clear documentation and contribute to operational best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or a similar role in a high-performance environment
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application, network, and OS layers
• Proficiency with Linux and Windows systems, including command-line environments
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Familiarity with containerization, databases, and observability practices
• Understanding of data formats such as JSON, XML, or Parquet
• Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure with shifting priorities
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation habits
• Ability to work on-site in Chicago and meet physical requirements of the role
• Valid authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
