About The Role
We are seeking a
Junior UI Designer
with strong
Figma expertise
and an interest in
design systems
. In this role, you will help maintain and evolve our
design system, component libraries, and design documentation
to enable product teams to build consistent, scalable, and accessible user interfaces.
You will collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure components, design tokens, and guidelines remain aligned across product experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update Figma design system libraries, including components, variants, Auto Layout, styles, and file organization.
- Support the management of design tokens, including naming conventions, mapping, and theming in collaboration with senior designers and engineering teams.
- Maintain and update design system documentation, including usage guidelines, examples, accessibility notes, and change logs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align design components with coded implementations (e.g., CSS variables, Storybook).
- Track and triage design system requests, updates, and improvement opportunities.
- Conduct design audits to identify inconsistencies and recommend migration to standard components.
- Participate in design reviews and support teams in adopting system patterns and best practices.
- Apply basic accessibility standards (WCAG AA) across components, colors, and interaction behaviors.
- Support measurement of design system adoption and impact across product teams.
Required Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in UI/UX design (internships or coursework in design systems is a plus).
- Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, Auto Layout, styles, and libraries.
- Basic understanding of design tokens and scalable design systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document design guidelines clearly.
- Ability to work across multiple projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Basic understanding of front-end development concepts such as HTML, CSS, CSS variables, or React.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience documenting design systems using Zeroheight, Notion, Confluence, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with coded component libraries and tools such as Storybook.
- Exposure to design system governance or UI consistency initiatives.
