Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Winnipeg, MB. The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and monitoring cash flow. The role involves ensuring compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, as well as supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The Accountant will collaborate with project teams and management to provide financial insights, respond to audits, and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, including use of formulas, spreadsheets, and financial models.
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
  • Ability to analyze financial data, prepare accurate reports, and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Understanding of tax regulations and compliance requirements relevant to Canadian businesses (experience in Manitoba is an asset).
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; pursuit of or possession of a professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience as an Accountant or in a similar finance role, ideally within infrastructure, construction, or related industries.
