Position Summary:
There is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Lead Analyst - Enterprise Resource Planning Strategy.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated ERP Strategy Lead Analyst to join our dynamic team at a large health system. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, business analysis, and system evaluation, with broad functional exposure to ERP capabilities and processes. Experience with project management is preferred but not required as the primary focus. This role is critical in shaping how we use ERP solutions to enhance operational efficiency and support our mission to provide exceptional healthcare services.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Analysis
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand current-state processes and define future-state business requirements across Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other administrative functions.
- Analyze how ERP capabilities can best support business goals, identifying opportunities to streamline, standardize, and improve end-to-end processes.
- Support the development of ERP roadmaps and strategic recommendations, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and operational priorities.
- Monitor ERP and healthcare industry trends, including AI and automation, and assess their applicability to our environment.
- Translate NYULH business requirements into clear selection criteria and RFP content; support the objective evaluation of vendor solutions in collaboration with project teams.
- Identify and frame opportunities for the effective use of AI and advanced analytics within ERP workflows (e.g., forecasting, approvals, exception handling).
ERP System Implementation and Integration
- Conduct fit-gap analyses between business needs and ERP standard functionality, with a preference for candidates experienced in Workday or Oracle Cloud.
- Develop and refine functional and business requirements, user stories, and process flows to guide configuration and design decisions.
- Collaborate with IT, vendors, and implementation partners to ensure ERP solutions are designed to meet functional and business requirements and follow leading practices.
- Participate in testing activities (e.g., developing test scenarios, reviewing outcomes) to validate that solutions meet business needs.
- Support continuous improvement efforts post go-live by analyzing issues, enhancement requests, and utilization patterns to recommend optimizations.
Data Management and Reporting
- Partner with business and IT teams to define data standards, business rules, and data governance practices within the ERP ecosystem.
- Help define and refine key performance indicators and reporting requirements, ensuring data produced by the ERP supports decision-making.
- Review and interpret ERP data and reports to provide actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
Training and Support
- Contribute to the development of user-centric training materials, job aids, and documentation that explain ERP processes and functionality in business terms.
- Assist in delivering training sessions and workshops to promote effective utilization of ERP capabilities.
- Serve as a functional subject matter resource for ERP-related questions, helping users understand how to use the system to support their work.
- Support change management efforts by clearly articulating process and role impacts and helping to drive adoption.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and other departments to understand their operational needs and translate them into ERP solutions.
- Act as a liaison between business units and IT, ensuring functional requirements and business priorities are accurately reflected in technical solutions.
- Facilitate discussions and working sessions among stakeholders to align on process standards, data definitions, and solution design decisions.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst or functional lead in ERP strategy, evaluation, and/or optimization, preferably within a healthcare or large, complex organization.
Breadth of exposure to ERP platforms and modules (e.g., Finance, HCM, Supply Chain) with a strong preference for experience with Workday or Oracle Cloud.
Experience participating in ERP selection, design, or optimization initiatives; experience leading projects is a plus but not required as the primary focus.
Familiarity with healthcare industry operations and relevant regulatory and compliance considerations is preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong functional understanding of how modern ERP systems support core business processes (e.g., procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, hire-to-retire).
Hands-on experience with ERP configuration discussions, requirements gathering, and/or business process design.
Experience with data analysis and reporting tools, with the ability to interpret and explain findings to non-technical audiences.
General understanding of integration concepts and how data flows between ERP and related systems (no deep technical development expertise required).
Soft Skills
Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to translate business needs into structured requirements.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate meetings and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple work streams and priorities; formal project management experience is a plus.
High attention to detail and a commitment to quality, documentation, and follow-through.
Adaptability, curiosity, and willingness to stay current on ERP and healthcare industry trends, including cloud-based platforms and AI-enabled capabilities.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
