JOB OVERVIEW:
Speech-Language Pathologist provides foundational clinical support, assisting with screenings, assessments, treatment planning, and therapy delivery. They gain hands-on experience across communication and swallowing disorders, document progress, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote safe, evidence-based, client-centered care.
JOB SCOPE:
SLP works within outpatient or inpatient settings as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team. Responsibilities include performing supervised screenings, collecting case history, assisting with formal and informal language, voice, fluency, and swallowing assessments, and implementing prescribed therapy plans. They support client and caregiver education, progress documentation, and home practice programs. The role involves coordinating with senior SLPs to ensure appropriate care pathways, contributing to clinical documentation, and maintaining compliance with privacy and safety standards. Exposure to diverse populations and diagnostic categories facilitates growth in clinical reasoning and intervention planning. SLP participates in team meetings, quality improvement activities, and continuing professional development to expand competencies. They contribute to service development initiatives, support student education, and assist with research and outcome measurement as appropriate. The position emphasizes learning, ethical practice, and progressive autonomy within a supervised framework.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Educations and Certificates:
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Saudi Commission License as Specialist.
- Valid BLS.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-4 years of clinical SLP experience or relevant clinical placements..
- Foundational knowledge of assessment principles, treatment planning, and evidence-based practice.
SKILLS AND PORFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE:
- Foundational clinical skills across communication and swallowing domains.
- Ability to document assessments, progress notes, and therapy plans accurately.
- Effective communication with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team.
- Basic knowledge of screening tools, therapy techniques, and clinical guidelines.
- Familiarity with EHRs and documentation workflows.
- Professionalism, ethical practice, and a commitment to client-centered care.
LANGUAGE:
- Proficiency in written, read and spoken Arabic and English languages.
