Senior Electrical Engineer – Mission Critical Design – Northern Virginia or Baltimore (Hybrid)

MXI Partners is searching for a

Senior Electrical Engineer

to join a leading data center and mission-critical engineering \& construction contractor. This role will lead complex electrical design projects across

hyperscale data centers, healthcare facilities, and secure government environments

, owning projects from concept through commissioning while serving as a key technical authority for clients and project teams.

This is a

hybrid-flexible role with less than three days in the office

, with the option to be based in

Northern Virginia or Baltimore

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle electrical design for complex mission-critical projects
  • Develop power, lighting, grounding, and infrastructure solutions from concept through commissioning
  • Direct multidisciplinary design teams and coordinate across engineering disciplines
  • Prepare and review electrical studies, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Oversee construction drawing sets including single lines, lighting, power, grounding, and fire alarm systems
  • Interpret NEC and energy codes while working with code officials and design professionals
  • Coordinate project documentation and ensure timely project delivery
  • Support generator sizing, system analysis, and engineering evaluations
  • Partner with clients to translate technical requirements into operational solutions
  • Drive quality, compliance, and technical excellence across projects

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4\+ years of electrical engineering and design experience
  • Experience designing systems for

data centers, hospitals, laboratories, or government facilities

  • Strong experience with electrical construction drawings and power system design
  • Working knowledge of

NEC (NFPA 70) and energy codes (LEED, ASHRAE, IECC, IGCC)

  • Experience with

AutoCAD or Revit and Microsoft Office tools

  • Knowledge of

SKM, Easypower, or ETAP preferred

  • Generator sizing and mission-critical design experience preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • PE license preferred
