Our client, a leading international engineering consultancy specialising in data centres and mission-critical facilities, is seeking an experienced Principal / Associate Mechanical Engineer to join its growing Dublin team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on some of the most advanced and technically challenging data centre developments across Europe. You'll play a key role in delivering high-performance facilities that demand exceptional levels of resilience, reliability, efficiency, and operational uptime.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership capability, supporting the delivery of complex projects while mentoring engineers and helping to shape engineering excellence across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the mechanical design and delivery of large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects.
  • Develop innovative solutions for HVAC, cooling systems, chilled water, ventilation, heat rejection, and critical infrastructure.
  • Provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support projects through the full lifecycle, from concept design through to construction and commissioning.
  • Undertake engineering calculations, thermal modelling, equipment selection, and technical design reviews.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of technical capability within the team.

Key Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Strong experience within Data Centres, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Healthcare, or other highly regulated environments.
  • Expertise in HVAC systems, cooling technologies, chilled water systems, and critical mechanical infrastructure.
  • Experience with engineering calculations, technical design reviews, and equipment specification.
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, IES, Hevacomp, and BIM environments.
  • Understanding of Irish, European, and international engineering standards.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, or working towards accreditation, is desirable.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
