Accountant

We are looking for a hands-on

Accountant

to join our apparel client's Finance Department.

This role will report to the Accounting Manager and is a great fit for someone with strong accounting knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany invoices, and multi-state sales tax filings.

Key Responsibilities

• Post journal entries, allocations, and accruals.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Analyze general ledger activity and prepare balance sheet reconciliations (prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR, accrued expenses).
• Process intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
• Reconcile monthly credit card accounts.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns.
• Analyze expense accounts and support monthly close.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and shorten the close cycle.
• Assist with external audits and ad hoc projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or multi-entity environments
• Solid GAAP knowledge and strong GL accounting skill
• SAP Experience
• Familiarity with multi-state sales tax filings
• Proficiency in Excel
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to take ownership

Salary Range $70-80k
