The Opportunity

Make a meaningful difference to animals and the community in this hands-on financial position within one of Queensland's best-loved charities. We are undergoing a period of significant growth and are now looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to join our Finance Team. As the Accounts Officer, you will ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial entries across all accounts functions, reporting directly to the CFO and collaborating with the wider finance team on ad hoc projects and tasks. No two days may look the same. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, and we value work-life balance, so there is flexibility around start and finish times to suit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable processes to ensure the accurate and timely processing of financial entries.
  • Provide accounts payable support during periods of leave coverage.
  • Process revenue journals and reconciliations, and complete bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Manage cash banking processes, including petty cash.
  • Complete month-end and year-end reconciliations and processes to ensure financial records are accurate and finalised within required timeframes.
  • Investigate and resolve any issues or discrepancies that may arise.

Essential Qualifications And Experience

  • 3\+ years of hands-on accounts experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • A proactive, dependable approach with a positive attitude.

Desirable Criteria

  • Diploma or tertiary accounting qualification.
  • Experience with MYOB or NetSuite.
