Job Description

Are you an experienced engineering leader with a passion for driving efficiency, safety, and innovation in metals processing? We’re looking for a

Director of Value Add Engineering

to lead reliability, capital projects, and process improvement across multiple

metal roll forming

This role is

hands-on, visible, and operationally critical

. You’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with plant leadership, maintenance, and operations to improve safety, throughput, and equipment performance—while leading projects that directly move the P\&L.

What You’ll Do:

  • Equipment reliability \& uptime

across roll forming operations (troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, MTBF/MTTR, downtime reduction)

  • Lead

capital projects

, new equipment installs, and efficiency upgrades

  • Drive

continuous improvement

in productivity, quality, and safety

  • Build

cost models

to support customer programs and project execution

  • Champion

OSHA, safety, and environmental compliance

  • Partner with operations, maintenance, vendors, and leadership to execute

Must-Have Requirements:

  • Plant-based engineering leadership experience

(Examples: Plant Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Reliability Engineering Manager, Operations Engineering Director)

  • Hands-on equipment ownership
  • Metal forming environment — specifically roll forming

(Other metal forming ≠ substitute)

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in

Engineering

(Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing)

  • 3\+ years

in plant, manufacturing, or industrial engineering

  • (metals / steel strongly preferred)
  • Deep experience with

roll forming equipment

  • Strong mechanical background:

hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical systems

  • Working knowledge of

Lean, Six Sigma, or TPM

  • Solid

project management

, CAD experience, and CMMS familiarity

  • Willingness to

travel up to 50%

for installations and projects
