Founding Engineer (Full-Time \| San Francisco \| Zero-to-One Product Systems)

At Dynamism, we partner with breakout startups backed by Sequoia, a16z, and Y Combinator to help them hire engineers with founder energy, people who build fast, think like owners, and thrive in zero-to-one environments.

We're hiring a Founding Engineer profile for a 2023-founded AI fintech company building modern infrastructure for financial institutions. The company is Y Combinator-backed, has grown to approximately 40 employees, raised a $29M Series A, and is already working with leading US banks.

The title reflects the level of ownership. You will build new products from first principles, work directly with users, and help establish how a growing engineering and deployment function operates. This is a role for someone who wants responsibility for the outcome, not just the implementation.

Location: San Francisco, on-site Monday through Friday

Comp Range: $160K to $265K base plus 75th-percentile equity

Stage: Series A, $29M round

Stack: TypeScript, React, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Python, AI and LLM tooling

Customers: Leading US banks and commercial lenders

• Greenfield software for high-value customer workflows

• Early architecture and technical decisions for new product areas

• Customer discovery, scoping, integrations, and deployment

• Fast experimentation with a clear path to production quality

• Product direction informed by direct user evidence

• Operating patterns that help the team scale without losing speed

• Founded a company or joined a startup as an early engineer

• Shipped a side project or hackathon product that gained real users

• Built software in financial services or another complex vertical

• Worked in an FDE or customer-facing engineering role

• Created engineering processes while continuing to ship code

Travel: Approximately 3 to 4 days per month. Visa: Candidates must already have unrestricted US work authorization.
