Overview
Our client is a Houston-based family office seeking a highly analytical and motivated
Trading Analyst
to join their investment team. This individual will work closely with senior investment professionals supporting the management of a public markets portfolio, with a particular focus on
equities, volatility strategies, and trade execution
.
This is an opportunity for an ambitious analyst with
2–5 years of experience across equity trading, equity research, derivatives, or a related public markets environment
to gain direct exposure to portfolio construction, investment strategy, and active trading within a sophisticated investment office.
The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills, market curiosity, and a genuine passion for
equities, options, volatility, and global financial markets
.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily trading activities across
equities, options, and volatility-related strategies
- Assist with trade execution, monitoring positions, and portfolio risk management
- Conduct market analysis and provide insights on equities, sectors, and macro trends
- Develop and maintain trading models, dashboards, and analytical tools
- Analyze volatility surfaces, options pricing, implied volatility, and market positioning
- Monitor portfolio exposures, performance attribution, and risk metrics
- Support investment decisions through quantitative and qualitative research
- Track market-moving events, earnings announcements, economic data, and company developments
- Assist with idea generation and evaluation of new trading opportunities
- Collaborate closely with portfolio managers and senior investment professionals
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have:
- 2–5 years of experience
in:
- Equity trading
- Equity research
- Options / derivatives trading
- Hedge fund, family office, proprietary trading, or investment bank environment
- Strong understanding of:
- Equity markets
- Options strategies
- Volatility trading concepts
- Portfolio risk management
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced investment environment
- Intellectual curiosity and passion for financial markets
- Ability to independently research ideas and communicate investment views
