Chief Information Officer

The Chief Information Officer based in Hilo, Hawaii, serves as a key executive leader responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s technology strategy to support overall business success. The role leads and manages a team of 15 direct reports.

This role combines strategic vision with operational oversight, ensuring that IT systems, digital transformation initiatives, and emerging technologies—especially AI—are effectively leveraged to drive innovation, efficiency, and growth.

• Oversee IT infrastructure: help desk, cybersecurity, networks, software, hardware
• Manage IS department: support, application development, ERP, and data platforms
• Develop and execute IT strategy and manage department budget
• Build and lead IT team (hiring, development, performance management)
• Ensure security, regulatory compliance, and risk management
• Conduct risk assessments and safeguard company data/assets
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts
• Advise executives and board on technology strategy, risks, and opportunities
• Lead digital initiatives: automation, cloud, data, and AI adoption
• Establish AI and data governance practices

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of systems, cybersecurity, networks, databases, and AI tools
• Understanding of business operations (manufacturing/retail preferred)
• Leadership, decision-making, and project management skills
• 10\+ years in IT leadership roles
• 2\+ years managing multi-location teams and large IT projects
• Proven ability to lead through complex technical and organizational challenges
