Job Description
What You’ll Do
- Design and prototype power conversion, switching, and distribution circuits for DC systems, including 800V-class architectures
- Develop gate driver circuits for fast-switching semiconductor devices
- Perform modeling and simulation across electrical, thermal, and system domains (SPICE or similar tools)
- Implement protection and sensing circuitry for current, voltage, temperature, and fault conditions
- Conduct iterative hardware bring-up, characterization, and validation using high-power lab equipment
- Optimize PCB and mechanical layouts for switching performance, thermal reliability, EMI/EMC, and manufacturability
- Collaborate with embedded and controls engineers to integrate digital control interfaces (MCUs, DSPs, FPGAs, or similar)
- Design hardware supporting dynamic power routing and real-time reconfiguration
- Participate in design reviews, documentation, component selection, reliability assessments, and structured test planning
- Work cross-functionally with system architecture, thermal/mechanical, and infrastructure teams to ensure system-level integration
- Help establish lab workflows, test procedures, and engineering best practices for high-voltage development
What We’re Looking For
- 3\+ years of experience designing, prototyping, and testing power electronics systems
- Strong familiarity with modern AI-assisted development tools (e.g., code generation, agents, model-assisted workflows)
- Solid foundation in high-voltage or high-power converter topologies and semiconductor behavior
- Hands-on experience with gate driver design and fast-switching architectures
- Proficiency with simulation tools (SPICE, PLECS, PSIM, or similar)
- Experience working with high-power and high-voltage lab equipment
- Strong debugging skills across switching, timing, sensing, and protection domains
- Ability to drive designs from schematic → layout → prototype → validated hardware
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with medium- or high-voltage DC systems (EV, industrial, telecom, renewable energy, or data centers)
- Exposure to embedded or digital control systems and real-time control architectures
- Familiarity with high-current interconnects, busbars, thermal/mechanical integration, and insulation design (creepage/clearance)
- Background in reliability engineering, derating analysis, safety reviews, or compliance standards
- Experience setting up lab environments or building testing workflows
- Prior startup, R\&D, or zero-to-one hardware development experience
Why Join
- Build foundational technology for the future of AI infrastructure
- Work in a modern, fast-evolving engineering environment
- Access to advanced tools and software to accelerate development
- Broad ownership across hardware, system integration, and control systems
- Rapid iteration cycles where designs quickly become real hardware
- Competitive compensation with meaningful early-stage equity
- Collaborate with a senior, multidisciplinary team across power, controls, embedded systems, and AI
Compensation
- Base salary range:
$110,000 – $250,000
