SCRUM MASTER

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a SCRUM Master, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of the Department of War. You will play a crucial role in facilitating scrum events, removing blockers, and enabling the team with Agile practices for high-quality delivery.
**Job Description:**
- Guide scrum-team through all sprints of a program increment, removing impediments and championing the team
- Organize and facilitate sprint planning and release planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other agile related events
- Track and communicate team metrics and sprint/release progress to all teams and management
- Assist the scrum team in developing and estimating user stories that are clearly articulated with well-defined acceptance criteria
- Update agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product and sprint backlogs
- Assist with internal and external communication
- Assist product owners with backlog grooming
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection and task definition
- Determine and remove impediments that interfere with the ability of the teams to deliver assigned goals
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution
- Promote continuous improvement and help teams to increase velocity
- Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters experimentation, creativity and innovation
**WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED**
Bring your software development expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The SCRUM Master must have:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, and work experience
- Experience leading Agile Scrum teams in a cloud environment
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps and /or software/application development processes
- Advanced knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods, and techniques
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Experience with Atlassian Agile Products; specifically, JIRA and Confluence
**Desired Skills And Certifications:**
- Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 5\+ years of SCRUM master experience working within the DoW or IC Community
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification

The likely salary range for this position is $112,840 - $149,500\. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
