£140,000 to £170,000 base, plus bonus and package.

About the role

A fast-growing, venture-backed B2B software company is hiring a security leader to own its security and AI governance agenda. Its customers are banks and financial institutions, so security here is not a back-office function. It is central to how the business wins and keeps clients, and the security leader is a visible, client-facing part of that.

This is a rare chance to own security and AI governance as a genuine commercial differentiator. You will set the strategy, build the certifications and controls that financial services clients demand, govern how AI is used across the business and inside the product, and be the credible voice that clients' security and risk teams want to deal with.

What you'll do

• Own the security and data privacy strategy across the business.
• Lead AI governance for both internal use and the AI features in the product.
• Build and maintain the certifications and controls that banking and financial services clients require.
• Be the senior, client-facing voice with customers' security, risk and procurement teams.
• Manage security across the technology and vendor supply chain.
• Keep security and AI risk visible and well managed at leadership level.

What you'll bring

• CISO or Head of Security leadership experience in B2B SaaS.
• Experience serving banking or financial services customers, and credibility with their risk and procurement teams.
• Current, working knowledge of AI governance frameworks, for example the EU AI Act, ISO 42001 and the NIST AI RMF.
• Strong data privacy expertise, including UK and EU GDPR.
• A track record of running ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar certification programmes.

Package

£140,000 to £170,000 base, plus bonus and equity. Hybrid, 2 days on site in London.
