Role Description

The Information Technology Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Ojo Encino Day School in Cuba, NM. This role is responsible for maintaining and supporting the school’s technology infrastructure, including computers, servers, and classroom devices. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring and administering networks, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, and ensuring secure and reliable access to systems and applications for staff and students. The specialist will handle user support requests, provide basic training on technology tools, and coordinate with vendors or external support when needed. The role also involves implementing updates, backups, and security measures to protect school data and ensure compliance with relevant policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess skills in Information Technology and Troubleshooting to support devices, systems, and software across the campus.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Network Administration and Network Security to manage, monitor, and secure local networks and internet connectivity.
  • Candidates should possess skills in Customer Service to respond effectively to staff and student technology needs and provide clear, patient support.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include familiarity with educational technology tools, experience in a school or public-sector environment, and knowledge of data privacy and security best practices.
  • Preferred qualifications may include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A\+, Network\+, or equivalent), and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
