AI Engineer in Dallas/Fort Worth Area

Robert Half Technology is hiring for a AI Engineer

Join a lean, high-impact engineering team at a healthcare-focused third-party logistics provider with a nationwide reach. In this role, you'll serve as the bridge between advanced AI capabilities and the end users who rely on them, designing AWS-based AI solutions and optimizing prompt strategies that unlock the full potential of large language model tools across the organization.

This is an onsite opportunity based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

What you'll do:

• Build and maintain a structured prompt library covering summarization, Q\&A, extraction, code generation, and file analysis use cases
• Apply advanced prompting techniques including chain-of-thought reasoning, few-shot examples, and structured inputs
• Design and build RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines connecting warehouse management systems, EDI logs, SOP repositories, and other business systems
• Deploy and tune LLM-powered applications, including internal knowledge assistants and client-facing chat tools
• Serve as the subject-matter expert on AI file-handling capabilities, including referencing documents, spreadsheets, and code files within prompts
• Embed safety guardrails including PII handling rules, data residency constraints, and jailbreak resistance into production workflows
• Test for prompt injection risks and stress-test AI workflows for vulnerabilities, bias, and misuse before production release
• Champion prompt engineering best practices across Operations, Business, and Legal teams

What you'll bring:

• 3\+ years of software engineering or applied AI experience, including at least 1 year focused on LLM prompt engineering
• Hands-on experience with large language models in production or near-production environments
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript for building prompt pipelines and automation tooling
• Familiarity with RAG architecture and vector databases
• Experience with adversarial prompt testing, red teaming, or AI safety evaluation
• Supply chain, logistics, or 3PL domain knowledge is a plus
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
