Job Description
Analyst – Loan Asset Management (Commercial Real Estate)
Role Overview
An established investment management firm is seeking an Analyst to support Debt Portfolio Management team, including underwriting, and portfolio oversight for a large, diversified commercial real estate loan portfolio. The portfolio includes loans across multifamily, retail, office, and industrial assets
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor loan performance, including covenants, funding activity, borrower requests (repayments, modifications, extensions, assumptions, collateral changes), and cash management processes
- Track tax and insurance escrows, property-level business plans, and coordinate with third-party servicers
- Support risk assessments of new investments, including review of cash flows, collateral valuations, market data, sponsorship, insurance coverage, and compliance metrics
- Assist with investor reporting
- Prepare materials for internal investment committees related to existing loans, including approvals, funding requests, and watchlist assets
- Review third-party reports such as appraisals, property condition reports, environmental studies, and insurance documentation
- Develop and maintain financial models using Excel and ARGUS
- Contribute to ESG-related analysis and reporting initiatives
- Support efforts to improve processes through technology and automation initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related fi
- 1–3 years of experience in commercial real estate, lending, structured finance, or a related fi
- Exposure to CMBS, CLOs, or balance sheet lending is a plus
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with ARGUS is preferred
