Job Description

Our client, a pharmaceutical company with a strong focus on R\&D and product development, is looking for an

Analytical Chemist

to join its team in Concord, Canada.

This role is a key position within the R\&D team, responsible for analytical method development activities. The successful candidate will contribute to method development, documentation, and related analytical tasks in a timely manner, in line with organizational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and validate HPLC, GC, and product performance test methods for pharmaceutical products
  • Prepare documentation and reports required for development and GMP activities
  • Perform laboratory investigations (OOS, OOT, incidents) in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop specifications for finished products, bulk products, raw materials, and packaging components
  • Conduct analytical method development and validation for new pharmaceutical products
  • Evaluate analytical results for consistency and accuracy; identify trends or out-of-specification results and escalate as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to analytical instrumentation
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with GMP, GLP, SOPs, and current test methods
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications \& Requirements

  • B.Sc. degree (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Medical Laboratory Science, or a related field
  • 3 to 7 years of experience in a pharmaceutical R\&D laboratory and/or CMO environment
  • Experience with analytical method validation, method transfer, and method equivalence testing
  • Experience with scientific documentation (protocol and report preparation/review) is preferred
  • Experience in handling laboratory investigations is an asset
  • Familiarity with analytical instruments and associated software, ICH guidelines, and USP standards
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with complex products
  • Experience in nasal product development is an asset
  • Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
