Position: AP History \& AP English Tutor (Part-Time) Location: Remote

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one tutoring in history specific subjects such as: AP European History, AP US History and AP World History
• Provide on-on-one tutoring in English specific subjects such as: AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature and Composition
• Deliver sessions following the Avery Prep structure: check-in, concept review, new material, student “teach-back,” wrap-up.
• Monitor and assess student performance regularly through quizzes, assignments, and feedback loops.
• Communicate progress clearly to both students and parents, using our simple session report template.
• Coordinate with our Founder to refine methods and ensure consistent quality.
• Serve as a mentor and role model, promoting confidence, discipline, and a growth mindset in students.

We cannot guarantee a set amount of hours for this position. Hours fluctuate and are dependent on student demand.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (Education or subject-specific field preferred).
• MUST have experience tutoring the listed subjects- virtual tutoring experience preferred.
• Strong ability to break down complex concepts into simple, actionable steps.
• Excellent communication skills with both students and parents.
• Reliability in scheduling, documentation, and follow-up.
