Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) to join our leadership team and drive financial excellence across our organization. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with the Chief Financial Officer to oversee financial planning, reporting, compliance, and risk management initiatives. Your expertise will help shape our corporate strategy, ensure regulatory adherence, and support sustainable growth. Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Oversee corporate accounting functions ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), IAS (International Accounting Standards), and industry-specific regulations such as ASC 606 and COSO frameworks.
- Manage financial reporting processes, including the preparation of accurate financial statements, regulatory reports, and internal management reports that interpret complex financial data for executive decision-making.
- Supervise risk analysis activities, including SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance, risk management protocols, and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
- Drive revenue management initiatives by analyzing market trends, developing financial projection models, and supporting business development efforts such as mergers \& acquisitions and fundraising activities.
- Oversee treasury functions including cash flow management, banking relationships, and investment strategies to optimize liquidity and fiscal health.
- Lead the finance team in strategic planning sessions, fostering leadership development while ensuring efficient expense management, cost control, and budget adherence.
Requirements
- Proven experience in senior financial leadership roles such as Finance Director or CFO within complex organizations; experience in nonprofit or governmental accounting is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting standards including GAAP, IFRS, IAS along with technical accounting expertise such as ASC 606 and COSO frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability in financial analysis, modeling, forecasting analysis, and developing financial projection models that support strategic decision-making.
- Strong background in risk management practices including SOX compliance and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing diverse finance teams; ability to mentor staff while fostering a collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the capacity to interpret financial statements clearly for non-financial stakeholders and write comprehensive financial reports.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and financial software tools essential for efficient financial management; experience with supply chain finance or revenue cycle management is advantageous.
