Assistant Manager/Senior Engineer - Product Development (R&D)

New Product Development (Home Appliances):

• Lead technical discussions, drive product modifications and ensure clear communication of all requirements and specifications.
• Define and manage comprehensive test plans, including in-house testing, field trials and reliability assessments to validate product performance in the local Malaysian environment.
• Perform deep-dive analysis of complex engineering reports and test data.
• Provide on-site technical support during pilot runs and the initial mass production ramp-up to troubleshoot and resolve issues in real-time.

Project Management

• Track project timelines, identify risks and report on key milestones.
• Act as the primary technical liaison with suppliers, driving the project from kick-off to mass production.
• Collaborate with crossing departments or divisions to ensure a smooth and successful product development and product launch.

Value Engineering:

• Initiate and manage cost-down projects for products already in the market to improve long-term profitability.
• Product / Component / Process enhancement by improvement the efficiency or cost while maintain product quality.

Engineering Change Management

• Manage and implement changes to a product's design, components or manufacturing procedures after its launch.
• Failure analysis and root cause verification.

Requirement

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Mechatronics / Electronics.
• Minimum 5 - 7 years working experience in R\&D / Product development / New Product Development.
• New product research and development skills.
• Strong understanding of mass production process and quality control principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and root cause analysis skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skill.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
• Experience in home appliance or consumer electronics products development is an added advantage.
