Chicago based commercial general contractor known for its long-term client relationships and numerous awards. The company provides services including new ground up construction, tenant improvements, renovations, and special projects for various sectors like commercial, healthcare, mission critical, automotive, multifamily, hospitality and education.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will work closely with the Project Manager to plan, coordinate, and oversee construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow into a full Project Manager position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Manager in day-to-day project coordination, scheduling, and communication with all stakeholders.
- Help prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, and engineers to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Monitor project progress and quality, ensuring compliance with contract documents and safety standards.
- Support budget tracking, cost reporting, and invoice approvals.
- Conduct site visits and assist with punch lists and project closeout activities.
Qualifications:
- Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent combination of related experience and technical training (1-4 years)
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline
- Knowledge of Construction Management Software
