Title: Assistant Project Manager \| NYCHA Developer

Client: Residential Self-Performing Developer

Salary: $90k-$120k

Location: New York City

A leading New York City self-performing developer with a strong track record and active pipeline of NYCHA projects is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support their growing team. The firm specializes in both new construction and renovation of affordable housing projects across the five boroughs.

The Assistant Project Manager \| NYC Affordable Housing will:

  • Support the Project Manager in evaluating project documentation for completeness, design intent, and code compliance, coordinating with the design team for clarifications.
  • Assist in tracking project budgets and expenses to help prevent overruns.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and work completion.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including meeting minutes, logs, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate updates between the field and office teams.
  • Help manage project schedules, procurement, and closeout documentation.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals under the direction of the Project Manager to ensure consistency and constructability.
  • Support post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices.

The ideal Assistant Project Manager \| NYC Affordable Housing will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience supporting NYCHA or affordable housing construction projects in New York City.
  • Working knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and project documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project); experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to travel to project sites within NYC as required.
