Assistant Superintendent

Position Overview

The Assistant Superintendent plays a crucial role in the management and oversight of construction projects, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This position supports the Superintendent in coordinating daily operations, managing subcontractors, and facilitating communication among various stakeholders, including clients and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Superintendent in overseeing construction projects from start to finish.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors and labor to ensure timely project completion.
  • Monitor job site activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, architects, and engineers regarding project progress and issues.
  • Assist in the preparation of project schedules and budgets, tracking progress against plans.
  • Ensure that materials and equipment are ordered and delivered on time for each phase of construction.
  • Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including manpower and materials used.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Superintendent or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and project management principles.
  • Experience with tenant improvements and general contracting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
