Job Description:
We are looking for a Data Center Assistant Superintendent to support on-site field operations for mission-critical facility projects in Northern Virginia, including sites within Ashburn, Manassas, and Sterling.
This role supports the Superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities, trade coordination, and site quality and safety across the full project lifecycle - from mobilization through commissioning - while working closely with subcontractors, MEP trades, and equipment vendors to help ensure work is executed safely, on schedule, and to specification.
Responsibilities
- Support daily on-site supervision of construction and retrofit activities from mobilization through commissioning and handover
- Assist in coordinating and sequencing the work of electrical, mechanical, and controls trades on critical infrastructure systems (UPS, generators, cooling, switchgear)
- Help enforce site safety protocols and support compliance with OSHA and local Virginia jurisdiction codes
- Monitor subcontractor work in the field and report on progress, workmanship, and adherence to project specifications
- Assist with daily site walks, progress tracking, and quality control inspections
- Help identify field-level issues and communicate them to the Superintendent in a timely manner
- Maintain daily logs, manpower reports, and site documentation
- Support punch list tracking and readiness for commissioning milestones
Qualifications
- 1\+ years of field, construction, or site supervision experience preferred; candidates with strong construction fundamentals and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply
- Basic familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems in commercial or industrial settings a plus
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 30 certification if not already held
- Comfortable using or learning field management tools (e.g., Procore)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Northern Virginia
