POSITION SUMMARY:

Associate Director, Strategic Access Analytics will be responsible for leading the strategy, design, and execution of access analytics and reporting to drive data-based decision making across Rigel’s commercial portfolio. This role combines analytics, strategic thinking, and partnership to measure contract performance, ensure patient access to Rigel therapies, and optimize investment allocation. The role will have direct ownership of complex cross-functional analytics projects related to payers/PBMs, GPOs, copay and patient services, channel, pricing, and other related topics impacting GTN (Gross to Net). This position will report to the ED of Access Strategy, Contracting and Pricing, and reside in the Managed Markets \& Access Strategy Department at Rigel.

Salary Range: National $185,000 to $225,000 Premium (NY/CA) $200,000 to $240,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Access Insights \& Performance

  • Lead development of data-driven insights to inform Access Strategy in alignment with the overall Commercial goals and objectives across payers, PBMs, GPOs, IDNs, patient services, trade, and health systems.
  • Oversee KPIs and performance tracking dashboards to measure Access programs, vendors, and contracts in areas such as GPO, PBM, IDN, health systems, trade, specialty pharmacy, and patient services programs.
  • Serve as a strategic analytics partner to the Managed Markets, Patient Services, Trade, and the broader Commercial teams by translating business questions into structured analyses and delivering clear, actionable insights.
  • Design and execute analytics projects to answer business questions that support GTN, channel, forecasting, and pricing decisions.
  • Develop and deliver analytics to support engagement with healthcare population decision-makers, including Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), health systems, and organized providers, to inform access strategy, treatment pathway positioning, and population health initiatives.
  • Conduct analyses using claims, specialty pharmacy data, and other acquired data sets to identify access barriers, treatment delays, and discontinuations across all Rigel brands, or manage vendors who complete this work.
  • Deliver account-level analytics across payers, IDNs, and organized customers, including pull through performance, patient journey insights, and access barriers to drive account strategies, or manage vendors who complete this work.

Partnership \& Collaboration

  • Collaborate within a matrixed commercial analytics framework, partnering with cross-functional analysts and the data operations team across Rigel to standardize KPIs, harmonize performance measurement methodologies, and ensure alignment on enterprise-wide data governance and reporting standards
  • Identify opportunities to enhance dashboards and existing reporting by partnering with Data Operations
  • Collaborate with business partners within and outside of Managed Markets \& Access Strategy (including the broader Commercial organization, Finance, Legal, Medical and Compliance)
  • Partner with Data Operations to evaluate and implement new data sources (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, MMIT, EMR) and methodologies to enhance commercial decision-making.
  • Collaborate on New Product Planning and existing Brand Planning projects with analytics and forecasting needs
  • Enable field teams (Payer, GPO, IDN, and Trade) with actionable insights, tools, and dashboards to support customer engagement and contract execution.
  • Partner with more senior analytics members to integrate advanced analytics capabilities into Rigel (such as AI, machine learning, predictive modeling) as needed. Manage external vendors or consultants who may execute these projects

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, business, or healthcare-related field (e.g., Economics, Statistics, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering). MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • 8-10\+ years (Associate Director) of experience in analytics, marketing science, market access, managed markets, patient services, distribution, and trade or business insights within the biopharmaceutical industry, or ability to demonstrate transferable skills in another industry.
  • Strong knowledge of the US healthcare system. Understanding of rare disease, oncology, and/or payer access dynamics is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SQL, Databricks, Excel).
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize diverse data sources into strategic guidance and actionable insights within timeline constraints.
  • Problem-solving and solutions-oriented mindsets are a must.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical data assets (hub/specialty pharmacy data feeds, IQVIA, Symphony, MMIT, SHA, EMR) is a plus. Preference for previous work with specialty pharmacy and patient services data sets.
  • Experience managing external vendors is a plus.
  • Previous work with a data aggregator is a plus.
