Associate General Counsel

Position Summary:

Provide wide-ranging legal services to drive the growth and profitability of Proximo’s portfolio of premium distilled spirits brands. Principal responsibilities will include the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements, review of marketing materials, and advice regarding compliance and intellectual property matters.

Position Responsibilities:

• Draft and negotiate agreements for (1) marketing matters, including agreements for marketing and media agencies, talent sponsorships, sports and event sponsorships, trade marketing programs and intellectual property licensing, (2) operations matters, including supply chain and logistics vendor agreements, (3) sales matters, including domestic and international distribution agreements, and (4) business development matters, including acquisitions and joint ventures.
• Advise marketing and sales departments regarding compliance with state, federal and international laws and regulations affecting beverage alcohol marketing, packaging and distribution, and assist compliance department in obtaining and maintaining required licenses and other governmental approvals.
• Advise marketing department regarding trademark and other intellectual property matters.
• Review marketing materials, including social media, online advertising, print advertising, television advertising and press releases.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with regulatory agencies and industry associations.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience at a top law firm a plus
• Experience in the beverage alcohol industry a plus
• Willingness to work in the Jersey City, NJ office three/ four days per week

The salary range for this role is a base salary of $117,900 - $157,200 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, and medical and wellness benefits. The range will vary if outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate’s experience and skill set against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.
