About
This role focuses on designing and delivering industrial automation systems used across manufacturing, packaging, material handling, and other automated production environments. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting system architecture, controls development, and system integration. You’ll work alongside mechanical, electrical, and project engineers to develop control systems from concept through commissioning.
The Work
- Design and program PLC-based automation systems using platforms such as Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, and Mitsubishi
- Develop HMI and SCADA interfaces that allow operators to monitor and control production systems
- Support integration, system testing, and on-site commissioning of automated equipment
- Work alongside mechanical and electrical teams to ensure systems meet functional and safety requirements
- Create project documentation including I/O lists, control logic diagrams, and panel layouts
- Assist with system troubleshooting, upgrades, and technical support during installations
The Background That Fits
- Hands on experience working with PLC based industrial automation systems
- Comfortable programming PLCs using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block
- Experience working with HMI or SCADA platforms such as FactoryTalk, WinCC, or Ignition
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, P\&IDs, and system layouts
- Strong troubleshooting ability and a practical, solution-oriented mindset
- Willingness to travel occasionally to support system commissioning
Additional Experience That Can Be Helpful
- Motion control, servo systems, or robotics integration
- Safety systems or familiarity with standards such as NFPA 79 or IEC 61131
- Industrial networking and communication protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or Profinet
- Exposure to DCS platforms like DeltaV, Honeywell, or ABB
