About the Role

BaseTech is expanding its

Kenya cloud delivery hub

and hiring

AWS Solutions Architects (2–5 years experience)

to support EU clients with architecture, modernization, and Well‑Architected Reviews.

You start as a

freelancer for 3 months

to validate delivery quality, communication, and reliability.

Top performers transition to a

fixed base salary \+ long‑term contract

.

Key Responsibilities

• Design

secure, scalable AWS architectures

aligned with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework

• Perform

Well‑Architected Reviews

across the six pillars and produce remediation plans

• Implement improvements in

security, reliability, performance, and cost optimization

• Build CI/CD, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation), and automation workflows
• Support migrations, modernization, and cloud‑native development
• Collaborate with EU teams to deliver

high‑quality, client‑ready solutions

Required Experience (2–5 years)

• Hands‑on AWS architecture and cloud engineering
• Strong understanding of IAM, VPC, EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudWatch
• Experience with

Terraform or CloudFormation

• CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, CodePipeline)
• Strong English communication and ability to work with EU clients
• Problem‑solving mindset and ownership of delivery

Nice to Have

• AWS certifications (SAA, SysOps, DevOps Pro)
• Kubernetes / EKS
• Serverless architectures
• Experience with Well‑Architected Reviews
• Cost optimization / FinOps exposure
