Position Purpose:
As the Sales Manager, you are responsible for leading, developing and driving performance across a team of sales representatives while building strong relationships with your team and customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of sales representatives to achieve sales and growth targets.
- Regularly review, share, and communicate sales results to drive accountability and performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to improve selling effectiveness and execution in the field.
- Conduct field visits, ride-alongs, and team meetings to reinforce priorities and identify growth opportunities.
- Track and analyze sales performance using data and reporting tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow same store sales and acquire new business.
- Ensure alignment and execution of company programs, initiatives, and selling strategies.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and support the team in managing customer partnerships.
- Oversee accounts receivable performance, ensuring sales reps are actively collecting balances and maintaining accounts within established credit terms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and support teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.
- Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and company events as required.
Driving Travel Required:
This role requires frequent travel to and from customer locations across the assigned sales territory. Regular day travel with occasional overnight stays is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of the Core-Mark sales process.
- Skill in operating various office equipment, such as a computer (laptop), e-Pad, order entry, phone system, etc.
- Skills in problem solving and analyzing to interpret sales performance and market trend information.
- Ability to communicate with department managers, co-workers, and business contacts, in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to be task and team-oriented and focused on goal achievement.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to check and correct own work.
