Job Description

Corporate Quality Manager (External Manufacturing)

Morris County, New Jersey \| Hybrid

$130,000 - $165,000

The best food safety leaders don't just identify problems.

They help people solve them.

A global food manufacturer is looking for an External Quality Manager to become the trusted food safety and quality partner to its external manufacturing network across North America.

As more products are manufactured through strategic co-manufacturing partners, this role has become one of the most important within the business. You'll help ensure every external manufacturing partner operates to the same food safety and quality standards as the company's own facilities, while building the relationships that allow those standards to continually improve.

This is not a traditional compliance role where you arrive, complete an audit and move on. You'll spend time inside manufacturing facilities, understanding how they operate, helping teams overcome technical challenges, supporting new product launches, investigating quality issues, leading CAPAs and working alongside partners to raise standards over the long term.

You'll become the technical point of contact for multiple manufacturing partners, working closely with Operations, Procurement, R\&D and Innovation to ensure new products can be launched successfully while maintaining the highest food safety and quality expectations. From supplier qualification and risk assessments through to traceability, recalls, continuous improvement and operational troubleshooting, you'll influence every stage of the partnership.

To enjoy this role you'll almost certainly come from a hands-on plant food safety or quality leadership background. Perhaps you're currently a Quality Manager, FSQ Manager or Senior Quality Supervisor who enjoys solving operational problems, coaching others and building relationships across manufacturing sites. Auditing experience is certainly valuable, but this business is far more interested in someone who understands how world-class food safety systems are implemented inside factories than someone who has only ever audited them.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role offering genuine autonomy, regular interaction with senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape how one of North America's fastest growing manufacturing networks continues to evolve.

The position is based in Morris County, New Jersey on a hybrid basis, with three days in the office, two working remotely and approximately 40-50% travel across North America.

If you're looking for a role where your technical expertise, operational experience and ability to influence others will have a direct impact on product quality, consumer safety and future innovation, I'd be happy to tell you more in complete confidence.
