AP Biology Instructor

Job Description

Erudite Academy is seeking passionate and experienced AP Biology instructors to teach advanced high school biology courses in a fully online learning environment. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AP Biology curriculum design, College Board exam preparation, and inquiry-based science instruction. Experience teaching honors biology, AP Biology, USABO, or Brain Bee is highly preferred.

We are looking for educators who can inspire students, strengthen conceptual understanding, and help students achieve academic excellence in AP exams and biology competitions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and rigorous AP Biology lessons in English through online platforms (Zoom/Google Classroom).
• Prepare students for the AP Biology exam, including FRQ and MCQ strategies aligned with College Board standards.
• Teach core biology topics including cell biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, molecular biology, physiology, and biochemistry.
• Develop lesson plans, slides, assessments, labs, and supplemental instructional materials.
• Assign and grade homework, quizzes, and mock exams, providing timely and constructive feedback.
• Support students in developing scientific reasoning, data analysis, and experimental design skills.
• Provide individualized academic support and answer student questions outside class when needed.
• Participate in curriculum development and instructional planning meetings.
• (Preferred) Support advanced students preparing for biology competitions such as USABO and Brain Bee.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, Life Sciences, Education, or a related field.
• Previous experience teaching AP Biology, Honors Biology, IB Biology, or college-level biology courses.
• Strong familiarity with the College Board AP Biology curriculum and exam format.
• Excellent English communication and instructional skills.
• Experience teaching North American middle school or high school students preferred.
• Ability to create engaging, student-centered, and interactive learning experiences.
• Comfortable using Zoom, Google Classroom, and other online teaching tools.
• AP Reader experience, classroom teaching certification, or competition coaching experience is a strong plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coaching students for USABO, Brain Bee, or other biology-related competitions.
• Experience teaching in U.S. private schools, public schools, or online academies.
• Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) are highly preferred.
• Passion for mentoring motivated students pursuing STEM pathways.
