Job Description
The assigned Palo Alto Networks Engineer shall perform, at minimum, the following tasks: 11\.2 Required Technical Experience The assigned engineer must demonstrate the following minimum experience and qualifications: Core Requirements • Minimum 5\+ years of hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW • Strong experience with Panorama centralized management • Deep knowledge of: o App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID o Security policies and NAT configurations o Zone-based firewall architecture Security \& Threat Expertise • Experience analyzing: o Threat logs (malware, exploits, C2 traffic) o WildFire analysis and verdicts o DNS Security and URL filtering events • Understanding of: o Network security principles o Threat detection and response workflows Networking \& Troubleshooting • Strong understanding of: o TCP/IP, routing, switching, and VLANs o VPN technologies (IPSec and GlobalProtect) • Experience with: o Packet capture tools o CLI-based troubleshooting o Session-level traffic analysis Operational \& Process Experience • Experience working within: o Change management processes (CAB) o Incident management workflows o ITSM/ticketing systems • Ability to: o Document configurations and procedures o Produce operational and executive-level reports Certifications (Preferred) • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) – Preferred • Other relevant certifications (e.g., Security\+, CISSP) – Beneficial 11\.3 Soft Skills \& Professional Requirements • Strong communication skills (technical and non-technical) • Ability to work independently and within a team environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic operational environment • Professional demeanor suitable for public sector engagement
