The Associate Product Owner of Digital Ordering (APO) plays a key role within the Digital Ordering Squad, acting as the voice of the customer and supporting the end-to-end lifecycle of our App and Web ordering experiences. In this role, you will partner closely with the Digital Product Owner to translate the product vision into clear, actionable backlog items and align technology delivery with business priorities.
You will drive progress on key initiatives through day-to-day squad execution, backlog management, sprint planning, and cross-functional coordination, serving as the link between product leadership and technical development teams. Additionally, you will support Digital Menu–related launches by ensuring accurate configuration, timely deployment, and a seamless guest experience across channels.
A successful candidate in this role will demonstrate strong prioritization, organization, and communication skills to consistently deliver high-quality results on time and in alignment with established objectives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate relationship with the end customer and business leadership/owners, bringing the voice and priorities of the customer to the forefront. Work cross-functionally to establish alignment and ensure business strategy, requirements and solution capabilities are effectively matched and implemented. Develops spirit of teamwork and collaboration with clear lines of accountability for key decisions.
- Own Squad’s sprint backlog and prioritization of new product initiatives. Prioritizes product backlog working against established roadmap and coordinating cross-functional dependencies. Manages portfolio of features to ensure proper prioritization and delivery of initiatives on time and on budget.
- Responsible for development of business case and opportunity definition. Incorporates this knowledge when scoping and prioritizing features. Makes tradeoff decisions between scope (value in expected ROI) and schedule (higher operating expense in longer release cycles) to reflect the best interests of business stakeholders and end users.
- Responsible for product introduction and review with stakeholders. Understands business objectives and clarifies customer objectives for squads.
- Track and monitor key performance indicators. Continuously research our competitive set and broader digital landscape trends to identify new opportunities relevant to our business goals.
What We Expect From You
- Education: Bachelors Degree required
- 3\+ years of experience working on cross-functional and diverse teams. Leadership roles or product management experience preferred.
- Experience working in IT/ Marketing that has resulted in an understanding of technology and its applications.
- Understanding of and experience with Agile methodology required
- Excellent communication skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and align stakeholders with competing interests.
- Proven prioritization and organization skills.
- Passion for partnership with inclusive and diverse teams and mirror Wendy’s core values ‘Treat People with Respect’ and ‘Do the Right Thing’.
Expected Work Location (In Office):
It is expected that you will primarily perform work at the Wendy's Restaurant Support Center (RSC) (1 Dave Thomas Blvd, Dublin, OH 43017), or at other location(s) as designated by the Company. You are required to work in the office at least 4 days a week. Changes to work location arrangements are subject to managerial approval and business needs.

The base pay range for this position is listed below. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position. The target annual bonus for this role is 10% of annualized base salary, based on actual company and personal performance.
