Manhattan, NYC (On‑Site)

Salary:

Up to $110,000 base

About the Role

A well‑established financial services firm in Manhattan is seeking an experienced

HR Generalist

to support day‑to‑day people operations in a fast‑paced, highly professional environment. This is a fully in‑office role ideal for a hands‑on HR professional who thrives in a regulated industry and enjoys partnering closely with leadership, employees, and external vendors.

The HR Generalist will support the full employee lifecycle, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions related to policies, benefits, payroll, and general HR matters
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including offer letters, new hire paperwork, orientations, and exits
  • Administer employee benefits programs and act as liaison with benefits vendors and brokers
  • Partner with payroll to ensure accurate data, timekeeping, and employee changes
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; run reports as needed
  • Support employee relations matters, including investigations, performance issues, and documentation
  • Assist with compliance initiatives, including labor law adherence, audits, and policy updates
  • Support performance management cycles, reviews, and manager guidance
  • Collaborate with leadership and Finance on HR‑related initiatives and projects
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4–6\+ years of HR Generalist experience, preferably within

financial services, professional services, or other regulated environments

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Experience with HRIS platforms (ADP, Workday, UKG, or similar)
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive employee matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a fully in‑office setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
