Key Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for assisting with various legal, risk, and insurance matters.
- Assist with all aspects of claims management: submission, incident investigation, review of records, and closure
- Engage with outside counsel for contract review
- Provide oversight for construction-related legal needs including bonds, liens, claims disputes, indemnification, and warranties
- Act as the liaison with all insurance companies, legal counsel, staff, claimants, and other involved parties
- Develop and implement claims handling procedures. Ensure efficient and effective claims processing
- Manage claims data. Gather, analyze, and track claims data for recordkeeping, loss forecasting, and trend analysis
- Monitor and evaluate claims performance. Identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes
- Lead claims review meetings to guide resolution
- Collaborate with Nurse Case Managers and management team to administer modified duty
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a construction-related industry, or civil paralegal work
- Paralegal certification or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Specific experience and/or demonstrated interest in construction law
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, meet deadlines and manage a large volume of contracts and associated issues
