This role is based in NYC and covers the NYC Metro territory.
The Sales Director serves as the commercial leader for a designated market, responsible for driving revenue growth, market share, and customer success. This role leads the regional sales organization, develops go-to-market strategies, and ensures strong execution across retail, on-premise, and key account channels. The ideal candidate is a strategic, results-oriented leader with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and drive profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy \& Execution
- Develop and execute market-level sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, and market share objectives.
- Translate business priorities into actionable sales plans and performance goals.
- Ensure consistent execution across retail, on-premise, and strategic account channels.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sales team, including account managers and field sales leaders.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support talent development and succession planning.
Customer \& Business Development
- Build and maintain relationships with key customers and strategic partners.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional programs to maximize profitable growth.
- Oversee execution of merchandising standards and in-market initiatives.
Performance \& Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Own sales performance across revenue, volume, pricing, and trade investment.
- Monitor KPIs, identify growth opportunities, and partner with Finance on forecasting and planning.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Category Management, and Supply Chain to support product launches and commercial initiatives.
- Provide market insights to help shape business strategy.
Qualifications
- 7\+ years of progressive sales leadership experience within CPG, beverage, food, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success leading high-performing sales teams and driving profitable growth.
- Experience managing key accounts, customer negotiations, and trade investments.
- Strong understanding of multi-channel sales and route-to-market strategies.
- Financial acumen with experience managing forecasts, budgets, and sales KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in a Direct Store Delivery (DSD) environment is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required.
