Role Overview

The Senior Retail Operations Manager is responsible for driving and executing operational excellence across all STAUD store locations. This role standardizes processes, optimizes systems, and ensures sustainable implementation of company initiatives.

Essential Duties

  • Own and drive retail operations across all store locations, serving as the subject matter expert for in-store processes, systems, SOPs, and omnichannel programs.
  • Develop, document, and continuously optimize SOPs and operational workflows to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the fleet.
  • Partner cross-functionally to implement and enhance retail systems and tools (POS, communication platforms, workforce and inventory management), driving adoption and improving store performance.
  • Lead execution of retail and omnichannel initiatives, including testing, communication, training, and rollout, ensuring seamless implementation in stores.
  • Drive clear, consistent communication to the field, ensuring alignment on priorities, process updates, and new initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain inventory management standards, including cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
  • Manage the Retail Operations Calendar as a centralized source of truth to support store execution and key business initiatives.
  • Oversee store expense management, including supply purchasing, budget tracking, and forecasting.
  • Act as the primary liaison for store maintenance, repairs, and operational projects, partnering with Store Development as needed.
  • Regularly engage with field teams through store visits to assess performance, gather insights, and identify opportunities to improve productivity and execution.
  • Support new store openings by leading operational setup in partnership with store development and ensuring teams are prepared for successful launch.

Prerequisite Knowledge, Skills, and Education

  • 5–7\+ years of experience in retail operations, store operations, or back-of-house/logistics environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of retail systems and tools, including POS, inventory management, workforce management, and communication platforms.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and execute effectively in a fast-paced, multi-store environment.
  • Experience developing and optimizing operational processes, SOPs, and workflows that drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using insights to inform decisions and measure performance.
  • Experience supporting the rollout of new tools, systems, or initiatives across multiple locations.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence partners across field and corporate teams.
  • Willingness to travel (up to 25%) and regularly work in stores to support business needs.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with the ability to analyze data and communicate insights clearly.
  • Based in or able to work in Los Angeles.
