Job Description
Summary
- Performs and reports the results of laboratory tests in the areas of routine hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry and basic blood banking.
- With additional training, technologists will perform basic referral lab ordering and paperwork.
- Performs quality control and quality assurance duties.
- Participates in the evaluation of new procedures and equipment.
- Assists in the writing and revising technical procedures.
- Assists in the training of others.
- Assists with miscellaneous functions required to maintain the smooth operation of the department such as clerical duties, reagent preparation, and inventory control activities.
- The medical technologist exercises broad independent judgment and requires minimal technical supervision to complete assigned tasks.
