JOB DESCRIPTION

The Web Developer is a core technical contributor responsible for the development, maintenance, and optimization of complex, proprietary web applications. Positioned above the Jr. level, this role requires a high degree of technical autonomy and strong execution rigor. The Developer is expected to work in a highly systematic way, maintain excellent attention to detail, and consistently follow through to completion-owning full feature sets and navigating a large-scale codebase with minimal oversight, ensuring that front-end usability and back-end logic remain synchronized and scalable.

Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas

Full-Stack Feature Development

  • Translate complex requirements into functional, production-ready code.
  • Own the end-to-end development of core modules, ensuring they integrate seamlessly with the existing application architecture.
  • Maintain and optimize the connection between the user interface and proprietary internal databases.

System Stability \& Logic Integrity

  • Identify, debug, and resolve complex "edge case" issues that span multiple pages or functional modules.
  • Perform regression testing to ensure that updates to shared logic do not negatively impact overlapping system functions.
  • Write clean, maintainable code that adheres to the established architectural standards set by the Senior Developer.

Front-End UX \& Implementation

  • Execute front-end development with a strong eye for UX (User Experience) principles, ensuring that complex workflows are intuitive and accessible for the end-user.
  • Maintain UI consistency across the entire application, bridging the gap between technical functionality and user-centric design.

Documentation \& Collaboration

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for features and workflows to facilitate team knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in code reviews to provide feedback to peers and ensure the long-term health of the codebase.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Developer on technical feasibility and project scoping.

Qualifications

Core Competencies

  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional web development experience, specifically within long-term, custom-built application environments.
  • Autonomy: Proven ability to take a high-level task and execute it to completion without requiring "step-by-step" instruction.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to understand the "ripple effect" of changes within a large, highly interconnected system.
  • Technical Proficiency: Mastery of the core languages and frameworks in use (e.g., JavaScript, CSS/Sass, and relevant backend/database technologies).
  • UX Literacy: Ability to interpret user needs and implement front-end solutions that prioritize ease of use and interface logic.
  • Git, version control patterns, and workflows.
  • Execution \& Follow-Through: Highly organized and detail-oriented; consistently tracks work to closure, communicates status/risks early, and reliably delivers on commitments.

Preferred Skills

  • PostgreSql
  • React Native
  • Expo \& EAS
  • YAML

Success Metrics

  • Feature Ownership: The ability to move a feature from "concept" to "production" with minimal intervention from the Senior Developer.
  • Code Reliability: Low rate of regressions or bugs in owned modules following deployment.
  • Team Contribution: Effectively supporting the development cycle so the Senior Developer can focus on high-level architecture and strategy.
  • Delivery Predictability: Work is planned, tracked, and completed with a high closure rate; tasks are not left partially finished, and handoffs include clear documentation and next steps.

Location: Hybrid - Oklahoma City, OK
