Job Description

Position Summary

AZ GOLF is looking for a Digital Content Manager who is passionate about storytelling and building community through the game of golf. A collaborative "player-coach" who thrives in a fast-paced, small-team environment, has exceptional creative instincts, and is eager to execute—not just strategize. You'll help shape and continually elevate AZ GOLF's digital storytelling and content standards by creating authentic content that celebrates the people, places, and experiences that make Arizona golf unique. From member experiences and community programs to championships and Foundation initiatives, you'll tell stories that inform, inspire, and strengthen the connection between golfers and the AZ GOLF community. This role leads AZ GOLF's digital storytelling across social media, photography, video, website content, and community engagement while using creativity, curiosity, and data to continually refine how we connect with golfers across Arizona.

What You'll Do

Social Media \& Community Management

  • Own the development and upkeep of AZ GOLF's social publishing calendar, ensuring a strategic, well-paced content mix that engages members and fans year-round
  • Build platform-specific editorial approaches rooted in storytelling, community, and Arizona golf culture across Instagram, Facebook and YouTube while identifying opportunities in platforms currently not utilized
  • Manage day-to-day community engagement — comments, DMs, mentions, and tags — fostering an informative and welcoming online community for members and golf fans
  • Identify and coordinate content collaborations with members \& event participants, sponsors, the USGA, and other strategic accounts to extend AZ GOLF's reach to new audiences

Photography \& Video Production

  • Shoot and produce photo and video content at AZ GOLF championships, social events, member club activities, and Foundation programs
  • Edit and package footage into recap videos, social-ready clips, highlight reels, and behind-the-scenes content
  • Maintain consistent visual standards (style, color, framing, sound) across all photo and video output
  • Manage production logistics for events — equipment, shot lists, scheduling, and on-site coordination

Website \& Digital Storytelling

  • Own content updates, page builds, and editorial content for the AZ GOLF website, keeping championship results, blog posts, programs, and Foundation stories current and easy to find
  • Develop long-form and feature storytelling — athlete and member profiles, championship narratives and Foundation impact stories — that connects across web, email, and social
  • Balance planned storytelling (series, features, long-form) with real-time content during championships and events
  • Ensure web content reflects a consistent, community-first brand voice and supports member growth and engagement goals

Digital Asset Management

  • Organize, tag, and maintain a searchable library of photo, video, and content assets for use across marketing, communications, membership, and sponsorship needs
  • Ensure assets are properly archived after each event and accessible to relevant teams and partners

Analytics \& Strategy

  • Lead tracking and reporting of key metrics across social, web, and content performance, benchmarking against AZ GOLF's membership, engagement, and awareness goals
  • Use data to continuously refine content strategy, platform mix, and production priorities
  • Stay current on platform updates, web/content trends, and best practices, and bring new opportunities back to the team
  • Provide regular, actionable reporting to marketing leadership on audience growth and content performance
  • Support internal project submissions for the Digital Content function as assigned by the Head of Marketing and Communications

What Success Looks Like

Audience Growth:

Expansion of AZ GOLF's following, web traffic and reach across priority platforms across priority platforms and channels

Engagement Quality:

Depth of interaction — shares, saves, comments, video completion rates, time on page — not just raw impressions

Content Impact:

Development of recurring content formats and storytelling series (e.g., championship coverage, member spotlights, core services, Foundation storytelling) that build a consistent, recognizable AZ GOLF voice across the web and social media

What You Bring

  • 2–4\+ years of experience in digital content \& social media for a brand, sports organization, media property, or similar — golf or sports industry experience strongly preferred
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong photography, video production/editing, editorial judgment and content that has performed well across digital and social media platforms
  • Working knowledge of a CMS (e.g., Hubspot or similar) for managing website content
  • Proficiency with photo/video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent) and digital asset management practices
  • A working understanding of what makes content succeed on each major platform — part art, part science
  • Experience building and managing content calendars, community management workflows, and social reporting/analytics
  • Strong storytelling instincts, with the ability to adapt voice across contexts (championship excitement vs. personality spotlights vs. Foundation impact stories)
  • Comfort working both strategically (calendar planning, reporting, trend analysis) and hands-on (shooting, editing, posting, real-time engagement)
  • Ability to travel to and work on-site at AZ GOLF championships and events, including some evenings and weekends during tournament season
  • Passion for golf and/or Arizona sports culture is a strong plus

Working Conditions

  • Spends a significant amount of time in an office setting, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
  • Travel locally to visit golf courses and to oversee special promotional events using a personal or company car
  • A flexible work schedule with some evening or weekend work may be necessary when supporting Association events

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds unassisted
  • Able to drive a vehicle
