Job Description
Who We Are
Said Differently is an untraditional agency bringing together strategy, creativity, design and technology to build brands, campaigns, products and platforms. We create bespoke teams around each client’s needs, combining a core team with specialists across our global network. Our mission is to build the marketing agency of the future, creating exceptional work through a more flexible, collaborative way of working.
We are looking for TWO hands-on Creative Directors: one with a deep copywriting background and another who moves comfortably between art and copy. Both will develop brand platforms and integrated campaigns, lead client assignments, and collaborate with freelance specialists across our network while continuing to make work themselves.
For the copy-focused role,
you can build a brand platform, develop a campaign and write the headline everyone wishes they’d written. You have exceptional writing and editing skills, strong visual judgment, and understand how words and images work together.
For the art-and-copy role,
you can write a compelling headline, establish a visual direction and bring both together into an idea with a clear point of view. Your particular strengths may lean toward one discipline, but your portfolio should show meaningful contributions to both.
What you’ll do
- Turn business challenges and strategic insights into distinctive creative platforms and integrated campaigns.
- Lead the creative work on assignments from the first conversation through production and delivery, protecting the idea as it evolves.
- Write headlines, scripts, concept narratives and other copy across film, social, digital, out of home, brand voice and other relevant channels.
- For the art-and-copy role, create visual directions, layouts and storyboards that communicate the idea.
- Partner with freelance writers, art directors, designers and other specialists, providing clear direction and useful feedback.
- Recognize when an idea needs stronger writing, better art direction or a different approach entirely.
- Build persuasive presentations and lead creative conversations with clients, explaining the thinking and building confidence in ambitious ideas.
- Help select and brief the right specialists for each assignment.
- Partner with strategy, account leadership and production to deliver strong work within the scope, budget and timeline.
- Contribute to pitches and identify creative opportunities within existing client relationships.
What you’ll bring
- 10\+ years in advertising or brand creativity, with experience leading creative work at ACD or Creative Director level.
- A portfolio of original, strategically grounded ideas brought to life across multiple channels.
- Strong writing and editing skills, with range across brands, audiences and tones. The copy-focused role requires exceptional depth in this craft.
- Strong visual judgment and the ability to direct the complete campaign. The art-and-copy role also requires hands-on visual craft and proficiency with relevant design and presentation tools.
- Production experience relevant to your practice, including film, photography or digital content.
- Confidence working directly with clients and navigating feedback without losing the central idea.
- A generous approach to collaboration and the confidence to make clear creative decisions.
- Curiosity about AI and emerging creative tools, with sound judgment about where they improve the work.
- The independence and communication skills to lead within a distributed team.
