Job Description

This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the mill’s electrical infrastructure. You’ll be the technical owner of power distribution and high‑voltage systems, driving reliability improvements, supporting outage planning, and partnering closely with Maintenance, Operations, Leadership, and Corporate Reliability to prevent downtime and improve system performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and improve site electrical reliability with a primary focus on power distribution, medium‑ and high‑voltage systems, and transformers
  • Lead the design, installation, commissioning, and lifecycle support of electrical infrastructure, including substations, switchgear, transformers, and distribution equipment
  • Serve as the technical expert for medium/high‑voltage equipment, protection schemes, and system coordination
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical failures, leading root cause analyses and implementing long‑term corrective actions
  • Support outage planning and execution, ensuring safe isolation, testing, and return‑to‑service of critical power systems
  • Drive preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for power and distribution assets
  • Partner with internal teams, contractors, and subject‑matter experts to execute capital projects and reliability upgrades
  • Promote safe electrical work practices and contribute to training and safety initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical and safety standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred)
  • 3\+ years of experience supporting industrial or manufacturing power systems
  • Knowledge of transformers, three‑phase power systems, protection schemes, and AC/DC motors
  • Hands‑on experience with medium‑ and high‑voltage electrical systems
  • Familiarity with PLCs, instrumentation, and CMMS platforms (SAP, JDE)
  • Preferred experience with relay coordination studies and arc flash analysis
