Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Automation Engineer – ICSS/DCS to join our engineering team for offshore oil \& gas platform projects in the FEED and Detail Design phases. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in ICSS and DCS systems, with a primary focus on system review, engineering coordination, and vendor management rather than hands-on development.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review ICSS and DCS system architecture, design documents, and engineering deliverables for offshore platforms
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, offshore standards, and international codes (IEC, ISA)
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams including process, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, and IT engineers
• Act as a technical interface between clients, EPC contractors, and automation vendors
• Review vendor documents such as system architecture diagrams, I/O lists, control narratives, and FAT/SAT procedures
• Monitor vendor progress and conduct technical follow-ups to ensure timely and quality deliverables
• Support FEED and Detail Design activities through system evaluation and interface management
• Participate in FAT and SAT reviews, including offshore-specific requirements and constraints
• Identify design gaps, risks, and inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure integration between DCS, SIS, F\&G (Fire \& Gas), and third-party systems
• Address offshore challenges such as redundancy, system availability, and harsh environmental conditions
• Participate in technical meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID workshops
• Ensure adherence to project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering discipline
• 10–15 years of experience in industrial automation within oil \& gas projects, with offshore platform experience
• Strong experience with ICSS and DCS systems, including system review and engineering coordination
• Proven experience working with EPC contractors and automation vendors for offshore projects
• Good understanding of control system architecture, SIS, F\&G systems, and system integration
• Familiarity with offshore standards and international codes such as IEC and ISA
• Experience in FEED and Detail Design phases for offshore projects
• Strong technical review, coordination, and vendor management skills
• Understanding of redundancy concepts, network architecture, and high-availability systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities in multi-disciplinary environments
