Doctor (Travel Opportunities)

Your role:

As a Doctor, you’ll serve in a range of deployable health units, providing quality healthcare and medical intervention to keep the Army fit and healthy.

You’ll work in a combination of primary healthcare settings including clinics and health centres. You may deploy to a field environment to support domestic training exercises or overseas for international engagement activities and operations.

Your Military duties include, but aren’t limited to:

• providing expert clinical treatment in a variety of environments
• assisting in the planning and deployment of a health care team on operations
• developing health support plans to enable deployed forces
• treating combat casualties
• providing humanitarian health effects
• supporting multinational operational or peace deployed health facilities, using relevant doctrine and siting principles
• providing technical advice during the development of Health Support Plans and Orders at a unit level
• correctly operating and maintaining medical resources

Salary:

On completion of your initial military training and initial employment training, you could earn $138,979 per annum plus generous super.

Location:

As a full time Doctor, your primary place of work will see you based in one of the Army's deployable health units. These units are primarily located in Adelaide, Darwin, Townsville, Brisbane, with limited appointments in Sydney.

For this role, you must:

• Be at least 17 years of age when you enter the ADF

• Be reasonably fit and healthy.

Keeping fit is a big part of joining the ADF. You’ll need to pass a physical fitness test before you join, but don’t worry, we'll give you tips to help you prepare

• Be able to successfully obtain a security clearance
• Hold a degree in Medicine, have completed a hospital internship, and be a registered Doctor in Australia.
