It doesn't today. Technology is finally catching up to the need — customers expect instant, global, programmable money. HIFI exists to fix that. Our mission is to make money programmable by default, and to give developers and businesses the tools to move value at software speed.

We're rebuilding the financial plumbing of the internet from the ground up.

THE ROLE

As Product Designer at HIFI, you'll shape how developers and businesses experience one of the most complex domains in finance — and make it feel effortless. From the Developer Dashboard to onboarding flows and payment orchestration tools, you'll turn hard problems into interfaces that are clear, fast, and trusted.

This isn't a role for pixel-pushers or spec-followers. We need someone who thinks in systems, starts with the user's reality, and ships with conviction. Confusion is a signal to act — and great design is how we act on it.

What You'll Build

• Own end-to-end design of HIFI's core product surfaces: Developer Dashboard, onboarding, payment flows, and account management
• Build and maintain a design system that scales across web and mobile with consistency and precision
• Translate complex financial workflows into interfaces that feel simple and inevitable
• Conduct user research and usability testing with developers, operators, and enterprise customers
• Partner with engineering and product from discovery through delivery — you're in the room, not downstream
• Set the visual and interaction standard across all customer-facing surfaces

What We're Looking For

• 2\+ years of product design experience shipping real, complex products in production
• A portfolio that shows systems thinking — not just beautiful screens, but clear decisions and real outcomes
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including component libraries, auto-layout, and design tokens
• Comfortable with ambiguity — you can define the problem as well as solve it
• Sharp written and verbal communication; you can defend a decision without a deck
• You move fast, take feedback well, and know when done is better than perfect

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience designing developer tools, APIs, dashboards, or B2B financial products
• Familiarity with fintech concepts: payments, KYC/KYB, ledgering, stablecoins
• Basic prototyping or front-end skills — enough to speak the language of engineers
• Prior early-stage startup experience — you've built a design practice from scratch before

Compensation \& Benefits

The expected salary range for this role is $90,000 - $120,000 USD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

This is a contract role!

We offer full health coverage (medical, dental and vision) and unlimited PTO.
